About Chimaek Festival
We’re building a space where BIPOC communities can come together over crispy chicken and cold beer. In a city where many of us are working to stay visible and rooted, this festival is about joy, culture and showing up for each other. It’s also a chance for partners to connect with a diverse, engaged audience that values brands with purpose.
Chimaek Festival began in Oakland during the height of the pandemic and a wave of anti-Asian hate. In a time of grief and disconnection, we needed something that would bring people back to one another. Food felt like the most natural way. It invites people across cultures to sit down, share and create the kind of energy both communities and brands want to be part of.
